I am a freelance visual artist based in Madrid. My work is deeply connected to my roots in San José, Costa Rica, and explores the realms of nostalgia, solitude, and the enigmatic world of cats. I’m drawn by the analogue world and its encounter with the digital present. I enjoy exploring how the technological tools of today can be used to rediscover the unique qualities of analogue filmmaking, blending nostalgia with the possibilities of modern technology.
I studied audiovisual communication in Costa Rica, where I later worked in production, lighting, and camera team on various films and commercials. My experience and my love for cinema led me to move to Spain, where I studied cinematography at ECAM. Later I continued to develop and explore my analogue passion in a 35mm cinematography workshop at ESCAC.
In film or any kind of audiovisual project, my goal is to capture the most sincere images for each story. I value the way the entire team complements each other, where diverse voices coming together in harmony elevate the work, and I’m always eager to take on the challenges this process entails.
